Wenchao and Anna Roig attended the conference “Aerogels for Biomedical and Environmental Applications” that took place in Santiago de Compostela on 18-20 February. Anna gave a talk on bacterial nanocellulose as a cell culture platform and Wenchao presented a talk and a poster about his work.
Wenchao was awarded the Best Collaborative Poster Contribution award and the Best Oral Presentation in Early Career Investigator Forum award. Congratulations!
From the 12th until the 15th of February Nerea Murugarren attended the NanoGUNE Winter School 2020 in CIC NanoGUNE San Sebastian. The course included Scientific Sessions and Hands-On Lab Practices. As a student, it was a really fruitful experience for her.
A paper authored by Martí Gich, “Unconventional Ferroelectric Switching via Local Domain Wall Motion in Multiferroic ε‐Fe2O3 Films“, was recently published in open access in Advanced Electronic Materials. It is a result of a collaboration between scientists from ICMAB, Aalto University and Forschungszentrum Jülich. It has received funding from the ERC.
Congratulations Martí!
This month the N&N Group acquired three new students – and each of them will work on a different research line. Say hello to Thomas, Andrea and Marc!
On January 29, Anna Laromaine and Amanda Muñoz attended the Second BAR Meeting about C. elegans. Barcelona-based community of experts on the small worm met in the Bocconcino bar to talk about their research and experience in an informal setting.
On 20-22 January 2020 in Caparica (Lisbon, Portugal), the IV International Symposium on Nanoparticles/Nanomaterials and Applications 2020 (ISN2A-2020) took place. Anna Roig attended the Symposium as a Keynote speaker with her talk “Magnetic Nanocapsules for Brain Repair and Imaging after a Stroke”.
The paper “MRI/Photoluminescence Dual-Modal Imaging Magnetic PLGA Nanocapsules for Theranostics” has been recently published in the January issue of the journal MDPI Pharmaceutics.
Congratulations to N&N PhD student Yajie Zhang and to Anna Roig!
This study has been carried out in collaboration with Anna Rosell group from Vall d´Hebron Research Institute in Barcelona.
Last Friday 10 of January, Amanda Muñoz – a PhD student in N&N Group – attended the award ceremony of the video competition “Yo Investigo Yo Soy CSIC” which took place in CSIC headquarters in Madrid.
The paper “Micro/Nanostructure Engineering of Epitaxial Piezoelectric alpha-quartz Thin Films on Silicon” has been recently published in the journal ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces.
Congratulations to Martí Gich and former N&N Group member Qianzhe Zhang, authors of this work!
This study has been carried out in collaboration with NanoChemLab from Montpellier, France.
