OUTREACH

Our group is committed to bring science closer to people. To this end, we participate in different kinds of activities such as seminars and workshops. From time to time, we collaborate with the media and we also organize outreach activities in collaboration with primary and secondary schools.

TechTransferStories with Irene Anton from the NN Group

TechTransferStories with Irene Anton from the NN Group

The PhD fellow Irene Anton from the NN group participated in the TechTransferStories launched by the Technology Transfer unit of ICMAB. In this 20 minute-interview, Irene explains her personal experience researching in collaboration with the private sector to find medical applications for the biopolymer bacterial nanocellulose. Do not miss it!

Jan presented an ICMAB seminar on face masks – materials and reusability

Face masks are still one of the key factors helping us face the current COVID-19 pandemic, and have been part of the conversation since the first responses to the virus started to appear. The other key factor is physical distancing. Jan Grzelak, a PhD student in N&N Group, has presented an Online ICMAB Seminar on the current knowledge we have on the materials used to create masks and their reusability.

You can watch the recording of the seminar here.

“Els materials que canviaran el món” published in La Vanguardia

On the 19th of August 2018, the paper “Els materials que canviaran el món” was published in La Vanguardia. Many ICMAB researchers, including Anna Roig from the N&N group, were interviewed and explained the new materials they are developing at ICMAB. Anna talked about nanoparticles and bacterial nanocellulose.
